Retreat in May - We will hold our first-ever retreat in northern Alabama: Establishing the Foundation - Stages of the Path Retreat, May 30 - June 1 at Joe Wheeler State Park.

!!! Annual Fundraiser !!! - Join us at Anthony's Fine Dining in Buckhead for our annual fundraising dinner on Sunday, May 18, 6pm. Group sales are available, so buy a whole table and treat all your friends.

Events in June 2008

Mahayana Refuge - A Special Sunday Services: June 8 - Gen Mondrub will be giving an explanation of the Refuge Vows from 11am - 12:30pm during Sunday Services. At 2pm, he will be offering a Refuge Vow Ceremony for anyone who is interested. If you wish to observe the vow ceremony without taking the vows, you are still welcome to attend.

Annual Refuge from the Storm Retreat: June 8 - 14. All refuge meditation sessions are on a drop in basis; you do not have to attend the entire retreat to participate. Sessions are at 6:30am, 11am, 4:30pm, and 7:30pm; schedule notes will be available soon. ($5 suggested donation per session, or $50 suggested donation for whole retreat)

Summer Study Class - The Way of the Old Kadampas, for Modern-Day Practitioners: Our annual summer study class will focus around the the famous short text, "Advice from the Heart", by Atisha, the original founder of Kadampa Buddhism. Everyone is welcome to drop in for any or all of these classes.

Buddha Shakyamuni Empowerment Weekend: June 21 - 22. The weekend begins with a discussion-oriented class entitled, "The Middle Way: Freedom from Spiritual Extremes" on June 21 from 11am - 2pm. On June 22, make a connection with the founder of Buddhism for our times, Buddha Shakyamuni, through the special blessing empowerment ceremony.

Annual Art of Enlightenment Series - Mala Making Workshop: June 28 at the World Peace Café. Learn how to make authentic Buddist malas with Kadampa lay teacher, Angie Terrell.

Rameshori Buddhist Center of Atlanta, Georgia, teaches meditation classes and practical Buddhist methods for improving the quality of our daily lives and gaining inner peace. We are part of the New Kadampa Tradition of Buddhism, a classic, living tradition which has been re-presented by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso specifically for the West.
