"Stop the Week"
Friday Night Prayers for World Peace at Rameshori Buddhist Center, 6:30pm

First Friday of each month - Open House Night. The first Friday of each month is our open house night. There will be a short introduction to the practice of Avalokiteshvara, Medicine Buddha, or the popular Heart Sutra before reciting the prayers. Later, there will be time for “Q&A” and free refreshments. These chanted meditations and mantra recitations will improve our health and happiness, increase our clarity and wisdom, and increase our spiritual strength and good heart.

Second Friday of each month - Powa Ceremony. Powa, or "transference of consciousness" practice, is a special prayer we do on behalf of all the recently deceased. During the practice, we make offerings on their behalf, and we pray that all deceased beings are reborn into Sukhavati - the Pure Land of Bliss. If you have a loved one who has recently passed away, you are invited to bring his or her photo as well as beautiful white offerings to the Powa Ceremony on the second Friday of each month.

Other Fridays. On Friday evenings, we come together for a variety of shorter, relaxing chanted meditation practices. On the second Friday of each month, we engage in prayers to benefit the recently deceased. On other Fridays, we rotate between the practices of Avalokiteshvara, Medicine Buddha and recitation of the Heart Sutra. Afterwards, join us for dinner at the World Peace Café!
